About Us

Affiliate Company Member of American Welding Society (AWS)

Member of the Canadian Welding Association (CWA)

WPS America site is part of WeldCanada.com, Inc. that was incorporated in 2005.

The main focus of this site is to become a simple and unique solution to the welding industry needs, providing AWS and ASME welding procedures (WPS, PQR, WPQ, WPQR) software, also to improve or educate members' knowledge about American Welding Society (AWS) as well as ASME welding codes.

WPS America welding services is mainly based on the requirements of AWS Structural Steel Welding Codes, like AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2, AWS D1.3, AWS D1.5, AWS D1.6, AWS D9.1, AWS D17.1 as well as ASME codes.

Our members include certified welding fabricators with AWS, ISO, AISC, IBC and ASME or non-certified welding companies, as well as welding engineers, welders, welding technicians, welding inspectors, welding supervisors and welding education by students.

To learn more about our welding services, member benefits and answers to your technical questions, please review Frequently Asked Questions from the Main Menu.

A Message from our Founder:

20 years of hands-on services in the industry, including 5 years assisting thousands of fabricators at the welding procedure department of the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB), I experienced that welding engineers and welding supervisors have to modify their Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) more often, before final procedure approval. They were also asked to do some costly welding tests that could have been avoided, if welding procedure specifications were submitted properly in the first place.

An unnecessary Procedure Qualification test Records (PQR), means a waste of material, labor and inspection costs, also waiting for welding procedure specification approval. Sometimes a company might lose a bid for a project that requires those approved welding document right away.

The following are the most common reasons that welding procedure specifications were not getting approval, or called up for testing:

-WPS doesn't comply with the minimum requirements of applicable standard or code

-Lack of knowledge on how to prepare and submit a WPS properly, in the first place

-Not selecting proper shielding gas for WPS in associate with base materials, thicknesses of base materials, welding process or mode of transfer (short circuit, spray, globular), etc.

-Welding parameters are too high or too low for the specific application on WPS

-Don't know how to take advantage of prequalified welding joints as shown on each standard or welding codes (AWS D1.1, AWS D1.3, AWS D1.6)

Regarding to the last item above, still many welding engineers are not familiar with aspects of all welding codes; for example, many of the welding tests (PQR) for welding of austenitic stainless steel could be avoided, by using and referring of welding procedure specifications to prequalified joints of AWS D1.6 Code.

Our superior welding software is not only provide a unique and simple solution to prepare any welding procedures (WPS, PQR), for any welding process or material in a few minutes, but also we created over 10,000 prequalified Welding Procedure Specifications (pWPS) that are fully Code-checked with AWS welding codes, literally.

Here are what makes our welding service superior from providers of “CD welding software”:

- You are only required to have minimal computer knowledge to use this service.

- “CD welding software” doesn't automatically prepare a welding procedure or inform you about right shielding gas, weld parameters, etc.

- Our welding software provides the most features that “CD welding software” could offer, but without license restriction or network license needs for the users. Our online welding service is for unlimited intra company use, available anywhere to members.

- Our welding service is not only provides superior welding software for multiple structural steel welding codes for steel, stainless steel and aluminum welding or 10,000 Code-checked Welding Procedures Specification (pWPS), but also by joining WPS America, you can create your own Web page, WPS America.com/YOU, and start grow your business, advertise, talk about yourself, your welding services or products, and collaborate with members in your welding community.

- Our unique database designed by welding code experts.

- Highlights about AWS welding codes and “ Welding Techniques and AWS Code Views” for each of the major arc welding processes are also hands-on and helpful welding documents that are prepared, by our code experts in downloadable PDF formats.

- We are committed to provide members with continued value-added services.

- Our service fee is very affordable compare with welding software CD!

I was involved in many projects, and very pleased to provide a superior service to the welding industry, especially to WPS America members.

We did all the hard work for you, so that you can benefit from this site, headaches free.

Thank you for browsing or joining.

We look forward to building a mutual relationship with you.
