About the WPSAmerica.com

Affiliate Company Member of the American Welding Society (AWS)

WPSAmerica.com site is part of the WeldCanada.com, Inc. incorporated in 2005.

The main focus of this site is to remain a simple and unique welding software solution to the welding industry needs, providing AWS, ASME, and API welding procedures software (WPS, PQR, WPQ, WPQR, and Welders Management Report), also to improve or educate members' knowledge about the American Welding Society (AWS) welding codes, as well as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) welding codes, and with future consideration of The American Petroleum Institute (API) welding codes.

WPSAmerica.com welding software services is mainly based on the requirements of the AWS Structural Steel Welding Codes, like the AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2, AWS D1.3, AWS D1.5, AWS D1.6, AWS D9.1, AWS D17.1, as well as the ASME codes, like the ASME Section I, ASME Section VIII, ASME Section IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, etc.

WPSAmerica.com members include certified welding fabricators with the AWS, ISO, AISC, API, IBC and ASME or non-certified welding companies; welding engineers, structural or mechanical engineers, welders, welding technicians, welding inspectors, welding supervisors and welding education by students.

To learn more on welding service, member benefits and answers to your questions, please review Frequently Asked Questions from Main Menu.

Founder notes:

20 years of hands-on services in the industry, including 5 years assisting thousands of fabricators at the welding procedure department of the Canadian Welding Bureau, I experienced that welding engineers and welding supervisors have to modify their Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) more often, before final procedure approval. Companies were asked to perform costly weld tests that could have been avoided, if welding procedure specifications were submitted properly in the first place.

An unnecessary Procedure Qualification test Records (PQR), means a waste of material, labor and inspection costs, also waiting for welding procedure specification approval. Sometimes a company might lose a bid for a project that requires those approved welding document, right away.

The following are the most common reasons that welding procedure specifications were not getting approval or have been called up for costly qualification testing:

-WPS doesn't comply with the minimum requirements of applicable code

-Lack of knowledge on how to prepare and submit a WPS properly in the first place

-Not selecting a right shielding gas for a WPS, associate with base materials, thickness of base materials, welding process or mode of metal transfer (short circuit, spray, globular), etc.

-Welding parameters are too high or too low in WPS for that specific application

-Don't know how to take advantage of prequalified welding joints of each welding codes (the AWS D1.1, AWS D1.3, AWS D1.6)

Regarding to the last item above, there are still engineers who are not familiar with all aspects of a weld code; for example, many of the welding tests (PQR) for welding of austenitic stainless steels could be avoided, by using and referring of welding procedure specifications to prequalified welding joints of the AWS D1.6 code.

WPSAmerica.com superior welding software provides a unique and simple solution to prepare your weld documents (WPS, PQR, WPQR, WPQ, and Welders Management Report), for any welding process or material in a few minutes; plus we created over 10,000 prequalified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS's) that are fully code-checked with the AWS welding codes, literally.

What makes WPSAmerica.com service superior and different than the rest:

-You are only required to have minimal computer knowledge to use this service.

-No need to download the software on your computer, just log in and start manage your weld document.

-CD welding software, doesn't automatically prepare a single welding procedure for you, however WPSAmerica.com offers you over 10,000 procedures for the AWS codes, as well as superior welding software for both the AWS and ASME codes. It also provides free online resources, guides to choose right shielding gases, practical weld parameters data, and educational experts' welding presentations.

-The welding software provides no restriction for the users of companies, no company license fee. The welding service is good for unlimited intra company use, available anywhere online to members.

-Superior welding software for the AWS structural steels welding codes (steels, stainless steels, aluminum, bridge, and more), as well as the ASME codes (pressure vessel, piping, boiler, power piping, process piping, and more).

-By joining WPSAmerica.com, you can also create your own Web page, WPSAmerica.com/YOU, and start business network, and collaborate with members in your welding community.

-Option to save your weld document online (WPS, PQR, WPQ, WPQR and Welder Management Report), plus you can always save it on your computer in PDF format.

-The software and database designed by the welding code experts, and will be updated, if necessary.

-Members also have access to hands-on welding documents (like highlights of the AWS and ASME welding codes, complete codes' rules with full guidance, and welding techniques for several welding processes), in downloadable PDF formats.

-WPSAmerica.com is committed to provide members with the continued value-added services.

-The service fee is very affordable.

I was involved in many projects, and very pleased to provide a superior service to the welding industry, especially to members of the WPSAmerica.com

We did all the hard work for you, so that you can benefit from this site, headaches free.

Thank you for browsing and joining.
